I am jumping on the weekly writing challenge bandwagon with a fun weekly challenge all of my own. Drum roll please….
Each week I will post a line or two from a random song for you to use as a prompt. You don’t need to reference the song in your story or even use the words if you don’t want to, just use it as a prompt for a short story of up to 1500 words.
Please make sure to provide a pingback to the week’s prompt so everyone gets to see your fab entries and please try to take a look at the other’s entries and comment on their take on the prompts.
So! The very first Song Lyric Story prompt is from the song Next To Me by Emeli Sandé:
When the end has come and buildings falling down fast, when we’ve spoilt the land and dried up all the sea..
I hope that’s given your creative selves a good prod and I look forward to reading all of your stories!
Love this idea! Commenting so I can come back to it!

I didn’t get a chance to participate this week, but your prompt reminded me of a story I wrote back in January: http://article94.wordpress.com/2014/01/10/griefstruck-story/
